The Kansas City Chiefs could lose a wide receiver

The Kansas City Chiefs lost one of their best players last offseason. The Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, and the Chiefs wide receiver room took a hit. But that didn’t stop quarterback Patrick Mahomes from winning the league in MVP and leading the Chiefs to a Super Bowl win. Now they could be set to lose another speedy wide receiver.

According to Jeremy Fowler with ESPN, the Chiefs are preparing for the likelihood that wide receiver Mecole Hardman will leave in free agency.

Hardman has made a huge impact on the Chiefs offense since he joined the league in 2019. He has 2,088 yards receiving and 16 receiving touchdowns in his four-year career. Hardman’s stats would be much higher had he not missed the second half of the season with an injury. Hardman was not able to return for the Chiefs postseason.

His impressive speed and skill set will draw plenty of bidders in free agency. The Chiefs must hope their young wide receivers can step up next season to take his place.
