Former Michigan Standout Wide Receiver Stays Home In State With New NFL Contract

Peoples-Jones had three and a half solid years with the Browns, and there were times when it looked like he could have gotten a contract extension with the team, but the Browns traded him to the Detroit Lions at last year’s NFL trade deadline.

The four-year NFL veteran didn’t show much in Detroit. He played in eight games and caught five passes for 58 yards and zero scores. 

Peoples-Jones missed out on a huge payday this offseason but will return to the Lions on a one-year deal. The deal was announced Saturday, and it’s for one year, up to two million, according to Bleacher Report. 

Peoples-Jones Going Back To The Lions Is Great

Peoples-Jones going back to the Lions is a good move for him. The Lions are an excellent football team. They were just in the NFC title game two months ago, and quarterback Jared Goff loves to air it out. Peoples-Jones might not be one of the top wide receivers on the roster, but he has talent. Sadly, injuries come into play in the NFL, and Peoples-Jones will have to step up big time when that happens. I know he will because he did that in Cleveland and will do it with the Lions. 

Peoples-Jones’s career didn’t start well in Michigan, but it sure has a chance to finish well there.
