Already slight underdog, Chiefs now have to beat the 'Drake curse' in Super Bowl LVIII

For years now there has been a growing sentiment that Drake has a way of cursing teams and athletes that he supports or bets on. It could be something as simple as Drake being a fan of the team or wearing their jersey. He is like the anti-King Midas when it comes to sports fandom where everything he touches ends up failing. 

Some of the athletes and teams that have been beaten by the Drake curse include  UFC fighters, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the 2019 Alabama Crimson Tide. The latter was absolutely rocked in the national title game after Drake delivered a pregame speech to them.

Drake has even become self-aware of the idea and once wore a Philadelphia 76ers jersey when his favorite team — the Toronto Raptors — played them in a playoff game. That was the year the Raptors won the NBA title, thanks in large part to a Kawhi Leonard buzzer-beating shot to down the 76ers. 

The Chiefs are a small underdog going into Sunday's game as they look to win the Super Bowl for the second year in a row.
