Former Dodgers Fan Favorite Signs With Mexican League Team
USA TODAY Sports

Former Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star and fan favorite Yasiel Puig is taking his talents down south to Mexico.

According to Francys Romero of MLB.com, Puig has signed a contract with El Aguila de Veracruz of the Mexican League.

The 33-year-old will return to that Mexican league team as he played there in 2021. In 62 games that season, he slashed .312/.409/.517 with ten home runs and 43 RBIs in 247 plate appearances.

Puig last played professionally in 2022 with the Kiwoom Heroes. He will now return to Mexico to play professionally and do it in a familiar place. The former MLB All-Star last played in the major leagues in 2019 with the then-Cleveland Indians.

The Cuban native is known as a Dodger and spent the first six years of his career in Los Angeles. Dodger fans love the Wild Horse as he created countless memories in Dodger Blue. We wish him the best in Mexico and hopefully see him in the major leagues again.
