Former Dodger Yasiel Puig Has Fun with Dodgers Nation and Andrew Friedman

The Dodgers are in the midst of quite a slump. In June, the team is just 5-10, and coming off a three-game series sweep at home at the hands of the division rival San Francisco Giants. As the Dodgers are off on Monday, they sit in third place in the NL West.

Due to all the struggles, over on Twitter, the account Dodgers Nation decided to ask a simple question to their Dodger fan following:

"What would you tell Andrew Friedman right now?"

The tweet found its way into former Dodger Yasiel Puig's feed, and he had a very simple response that proves he's looking to help this team get out of their current slump.

Puig responded with one simple emoji of someone raising their hand, making it clear that he thinks Friedman should reach out to him for a spot on this year's team.

Puig, of course, spent the first six years of his career in Los Angeles, and was one of the most fun and electrifying players on the team. In six seasons, Puig slashed .279/.353/.478 with 108 home runs and 331 runs batted in. He ended up getting traded to the Cincinnati Reds ahead of the 2019 season, and then joined Cleveland later that year before playing overseas ever since.

Most recently, in 2022, Puig was in Korea, slashing .277/.368/.474 with 21 home runs and 73 runs batted in across 547 plate appearances. Puig is 32 years old, so he could still technically make an impact and seems interested in doing so.

However, he's been out of the league for the last three-plus seasons, and seems unlikely to get another shot. But it is fun to see that he's interested in helping his former team out.
