Cole Bishop Just Ran a Blistering Fast 40-Yard Dash at the NFL Combine
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

What can’t Cole Bishop do?

Utah’s three-time Pac-12 All-Conference safety, who was one of the team’s most reliable defensive players for multiple seasons, just showcased his insane athleticism, running a sub-4.5 second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

Bishop’s official time of 4.45 seconds is currently tied for the 15th-fastest 40-yard dash at this year’s Combine. Moreover, it represents a blistering fast mark for the safety, who stands at a considerable 6-foot-2, 207 pounds.

What more could NFL scouts want than an instinctual safety, who can deliver bone-crushing hits, while also running stride for stride with quick offensive playmakers.

Bishop has wildly enhanced his draft stock thanks to his impressive Combine workout. While there are still additional drills to be completed, the former Utah standout currently ranks third among all Combine safeties in terms of ‘athleticism score’ according to NFL’s Next Gen Stats.

In addition to a lightning-fast 40 time, Bishop also impressed with a vertical jump of 39 inches and a broad jump of 10 feet 4 inches. Both nearing the top percentile for a player of his stature.

While it’s already been reported that Bishop has met with the Eagles, Texans, and Steelers at this year’s Combine, more teams will undoubtedly follow suit after such an impressive workout.
